These chicks are a little over 3 weeks old. They are mutts, but still so cute! Just wondering if anyone has any early guesses to gender?

    Same one:

    Both together:

Compared to the cat(who would no doubt eat them if given the chance):

Do they have the same parentage? If not, what are the guesses?

The little one with a stubby tail might be a roo.

Here is their Dad when he was a chick..
Here he is a little older..he now has a huge triple comb and huge wattles
    [IMG]
Any of these 4 could be the mother, I wasn't home when they hatched and dh is color blind and doesn't know what color egg shell they came from. DOH!
This hen lays olive green eggs..
This hen lays very pale green eggs..
    This hen lays brown eggs..
This hen laid brown eggs, she is gone due to a stupid raccoon..

Thanks for taking the time to respond!

The smaller, slower to feather is the rooster?

That was my guess so far too?

I think it is odd that he has yellow legs as none of my chickens have yellow legs. Genetics can be so weird.

I agree, the one with the long tail looks like a pullet and the one with the shorter tail looks more like a boy. They're cute! [IMG]
