I know you've heard this from a million other newbies...but....

I got my first eggs yesterday!!!

Two perfect little green eggs from one of my EEs. One was in the nesting box that I check every day; the other was inside the coop/tractor. I believe that one was laid a day or two ago (I don't look in there every day).

My husband kept opening the fridge last night to look at them. It was so cute.

There is NOTHING like a first egg! Congrats!!!

Have to tell you because I thought this was so neat. I read a post where a lady blew out the inside of her very first egg because it was so small anyway. She made it into a Christmas Decoration for her tree! I think that is a great idea.....wish I had done it. I had just made scrambled eggs out of mine when I read it!

Are you sure both eggs were from the same chicken? I only ask because I thought they could only lay one a day. Maybe one was from yesterday?

Congrats! My EEs have been laying for about two months now and it still hasn't gotten old. Eggs are so exciting!

Congrats to you! The first egg is the BEST! One of our EEs was the first to lay too. I just love the light green eggs.
