We are doing 4-H fair next year with our now lil chickies and I'm already dreading leaving our babies in those nasty wire cages for a week ! I know I'm gonna feel like a bad momma too ! I never have had such issues with the pigs or the steer , don't mind leaving them there AT ALL ! I feel your pain
I have a single Mille Fleur Cochin egg in the hatcher from Bantyman, he sent a couple but this is the only one developed.
Hubby saw the Mille Fleur Du'ccle and I told him that was the color of the one cochin, he thought it was pretty. Then he saw the Frizzle Cochin Bantams, OMG we will be having those next.....
Dh pointed out some birds he liked at the fair, quickly followed by the comment, "But we don't need any of them!"

Mike's got our new coop half built in the driveway. He says he's going to work on it in the evenings. Luckily there's no beer in the fridge, so it might just work out that way. He wanted to go to the fair this weekend to see the chickens.
I'll have to disappoint him though. I'm taking Wendy to the herding trainer Sat. morning.
