I let the ladies out for a day

And now all they want to do is roam free all the time.

I only have three young ladies. And I just started letting them out of the run to follow me around the farm.
They found the strawberry patch and ate all of my red strawberries (only had one anyway).

Now every time I walk past the coop they want to come out and play. They look at me and pace back and forth in front of the door.
 
I visited a friend and he let his hens out for a while and now they literally growl and make the craziest noises when they want out. Its hard because I started to let mine out in the yard and now when I open the coop door they run towards it. Maybe if you (and I) make a routine like after they all lay their eggs or just before bed. Not sure if that will help.
