I have three 2 year old peahens and one 10 year old peahen. They are in with a 4 year old peacock I live in Michigan when should they start laying eggs ?? Thanks ps. They have just started to get noisey the peacock has started to display quite a bit..

You will know when they display the proper wing dragging signs, mine started about 2 wks ago now but I didnt have the proper diet in order and the first few were soft shelled and broke. Ive collected 5 after losing the first 5 so you should be do anytime now.

I live in Michigan in the U.P. so get ready for eggs anytime, your hens are ready now or should be, if your in the lower where its been warmer I would think you would have started before me just as natural progression in changes of seasons animals follow same patterns where change in temperatures and daily amount of light will trigger different reactions in different species in different areas at different times. A woman in N.Y. was getting eggs almost a month ahead of me but I think she heated her birds in the winter where mine were not. by the time the Lilacs bloom I will have collected over a couple dozen eggs and hope to have stuffed my freezer with Walleye, lol !

We're in the Thumb of MI and I have one hen who just started laying last weekend. 3 eggs so far. The other 15 haven't started yet. I didn't get my first egg last year until May 15th, I had it on my calendar. But this is a new hen to us. Good luck.

Mid-Michigan here my girls have yet to start laying but during march one of my girls laid a single egg. Last year the girls didn't start until June but it all depends, you never really know, all birds are different and can easily be effected by weather, stress, or other factors.
