HI !! My name is Lisa & I live in the TampaBay area. I don't have any chickens---YET.... We just got the ok to have 4-- I thought I wanted Buff Orpingtons, but now maybe a silkie,too. Was wondering how they fair in our hot summers ??? Would live to chat with fellow Floridians & look forward to meeting some at the local swaps/meets !!! Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend !!

I've known people with Silkies in the area. One had a flock of about 20, so they seem to thrive just fine. (He did keep the coop in the shade)
