I lost $50.00 just dropped it..

Losing 50 bucks would be terrible but look on the bright side in this economy its probably only worth $45 so the guy didnt really make out as good as he thought.

Forty years ago I was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood and made $420 per month. I stopped at a small store and paid for my purchases with a $50 bill. When I made another stop I found that 2 bills were stuck together. I went back to the first store and explained what had happened and ask the owner to count his register. He refused. When you only make $400 per month and you lose $50 it really hurts. I told all the other DI's what had happened and they told other DI's. His attitude and dishonesty really hurt his business.

Wow that really sucks! This makes me feel even better about the time at walmart I happened to look down while hubby was paying for our groceries and I saw a $20. I picked it up and hurried and looked for the woman I was sure dropped it but she had zipped out the door out of sight so I turned to the cashier who was just friendily talking to that woman (asking her how her family was) so I was like okay good they know eachother and i was like "ma'am i found this im positive that lady you were talking to dropped it" she immediatly waved a manager over and they rushed it to the office incase she called back for it....here...the cashier knew the lady and her family but not her phone number. I hope she called for it like you did!

I hope the person who took it needed it very badly....

I have lost money before also. But I have found money too...I really hate it when I lose it but always put it in the back of my mind that the person who finds it probably needed it more than I did. I know the few times I have found money (1 or 2 bucks) on the ground it made me feel a little better for the day...50 bucks...I am not sure I would feel as good since I would be wondering who lost it and how much they may of needed it.
Believe it or not I have driven as much as 4 miles to return change to a clerk at a local convince store who gave me change for a 50 instead of a 20 (that I gave her) when the new 20's came out. That would of be money out of her pay if I had not returned it, and they don't make enough already
