I lost my hen too

I went out to my chicken yard and something had taken the head off of my large bard rock hen. Then it ate seven eggs and left the shells. I set a trap for three nights and caught the skunk today. Will keep the trap out for a while, and repair where he got in. I'm having to hide the other hens in my goat barn until I can do repairs. Yikes.

Skunk ate the eggs but probably a racoon beheaded the chicken.

Keep the trap out and baited. Maybe put a hot wire around your chicken yard. Will keep out most predators and is easy to do.
