So sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Hopefully by reading this story we will all be more alert and helpful if we see something happening like this.
I offer my sincere condolences. No wonder you are angry--I'm angry on your behalf! This is a sad example of a society that has forgotten what it means to be a "community." What is that quote? All that is needed for evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing. I'm sure every single person that drove by and decided that whatever they were doing, wherever they were going, it was more important than stopping to check on what was obviously a bad situation, consider themselves "good people." I only hope that you can forgive in time and remember the joy and not just this sad ending.
I would like to thank you all for your support. I am having such a hard time dealing with this. I am literally living my life breath to breath right now. I am thankful that when the EMT's arrived on scene and at the hospital, that they were unable to revive him. His brain had gone too long without oxygen and the outcome would have been horrible. I was told that they worked on him for over an hour. I do second guess myself, thinking, If I had only had a 2nd cup of coffee he would have went down at the house and I would have been able to start CPR immediately. I could "if" myself to insanity very easily. I did not know it was humanly possible to hurt this much. Who would have thought that at 43 years old I would be spending hours looking at urns trying to find the one I liked best for my Big Guys remains. The pictures below show why we called him the big guy. That is his horse in both pictures one with and one with him. That horse is 1/2 Clydesdale and 16.3h tall.
I am so sorry no one stopped. I am so sorry for your loss.
People are so worried that they will be sued that they are often afraid to help.
There is a person here being sued for acknowledging jaywalking pedestrians with a wave of his hand. A drunk driver did not see them and ran them down. He is being sued because "they relied on the road being safe" due to his hand wave. How many of us do that every day.
I was so proud of my tenants this week, there was a fire but before the first truck rolled up, they had already alerted every tenant to get get out (not that the screaming smoke detectors would not have been a clue)
I send you hugs and prayers that you can deal with your grief. Know in your heart that God grieves with you and he is sad with you for your sake. I have goosebumps reading this. I am so sorry for your heartbreaking loss. You are loved.
