I lost one of my 9 week old babies. :(

I'm really upset.

One of my 9 week old baby chicks just disappeared. I went to feed and water the chickens and I only saw 2 babies. I knew instantly which one was missing. The reddish chick that my mom had named. She named her Chip because when she first saw her she said that, "She looks like a little chipmunk"!!!!! I said that she could name her and she decided to call her Chip.

I looked around the coop three times and couldn't find any sign or hair (or feathers in this case

). So now I'm thinking that a snake had gotten her because there is no signs of a struggle and the wire hasn't been pushed in anyway so I know it's not a coon even though I know that they're around.

Chip hasn't come back so I'm postive that she's gone for good.

RIP little Chip.

Until the other little guys are 3 or 4 months old I'm going to put them to bed in the "Clutch Hutch". They were already roosting with their daddy on the roosting bar. He's not mean with them in anyway. I'm really pleased with Rusty there.
