I was letting my four 6 week old sexlinks free range while I was cleaning out the garage, I was in the the garage when I turned around and there was three of them standing there looking at me making this high pitched sound, I asked them where was the other chick and they kept doing that high pitch sound ( they have never left the area around the coop which is about 50 yards from my garage)I went back to where they usually are and the other three followed like they wer saying "see dad she is nowhere to be found something got her" Yes she was nowhere to be found, She is GONE:( It feels like I was looking for one of my kids.

I'm so sorry! My guess would be a hawk. They'll swoop down and be gone in a half a second. If it was, they'll be back. Once they find an "easy" food source, you'll have a heck of a time keeping them away. I would keep your chickens cooped up for a few weeks (make sure it has a top) and hopefully they'll forget about you.

Again, I'm so sorry!

Jess
