Opossum attack

We've had 2 cats attacked that barely escaped recently.Ones got a bald spot on her right hip where something attacked her .

We have a problem here with coyotes and bobcats. I think they are in your area also. They cause a lot of cats to go missing.

Outside kitties have real problems everywhere! Hope their rabies vaccinations at least are up to date. And very few live to old age...

All our cats inside and out , are up to date on all their shots. In Fl, not sure if anywhere else, the vet will report you to the county if you miss getting the boosters. The county will fine you and give you , I think it’s 30 days, time to get the animals in to the vet. After that it could go to neglect charges or even criminal charges. It’s tough on the wallet sometimes to get 12 cats and 2 dogs to the vet, but we’ve kept up on it.

I'm building catios for all 8 indoor cats my late daughter in law had.Everyone has been sprayed and neutered and got shots that wasn't (3 mo ago)

The strays are all gone and the outside cats have dwindled down to 2 that belonged to my late daughter in law (my cats are indoor only)

Well I've had Opossums around before & never had a problem, well just after dinner my pup wanted to go out to potty, so as she's going I'm waking over to my free range birds & they're no where to be found? I look to see a Sh!t load of feathers & and a Possum in the cage. So I shut the door & go get my pup Charleigh.... she hates them! She tried to get him, but I didn't get the cage open quickly enough. She finally got through the door & shook him, but he played... Well, he met Mr. Shotty.... Now I would normally I would just let them be, but not after you attack one of my babies, yeah they may be going on 5 years old, but Momma hen atacks. I know I can post here without getting yelled at. Charleigh & Momma 1 Mr. Possum 0.. Pictures of my girls when they were younger, Oscar is still missing, hoping to find her in the morning!

Even my horse vet tells me a good possum is a dead possum. They carry a bad virus in their poo, same with coons. I always keep my Mr. Shotty loaded and ready. I incubated 5 eggs and one hatched this morning. I'm sure the rest of coming, I hear them. Keep up the good work.

I found her, but I think the Possum may have done damage to my roo, he disappeared the next evening & I have not found any feathers, so NO More free ranging.

You won't always find any sign of it being snatched and carried off by a bob cat,fox or coyote.A possum would have eaten it right there and left a mess.
