Gorgeous flock! We are new here. Lol Anyways we have ducks & chickens. Had ducks for a year now and just got chickens this year. Our chickens are about 7 weeks old & they are beautiful. We have 16 total. We have some rare breeds like, a Sapphire Gem, two Lavender Orpington's, Olive Egger, & some other breeds we love like, Cuckoo Cuckoo Marans, Salmon Faverolle, French Black copper Marans, Welsummer, Americanas, Easter Eggers, & a Blue Silkie. Now the black & white laced ones I am honestly not 100% sure on. I have an idea but maybe someone could let me know.
I think it’s a hen because of the comb color and no waddles yet. They are all the same age except the Rhode Island Red that is a week or two younger than the rest. It also has started developing a red comb & waddle. The only one that has developed a bright red comb & waddle first & faster is one of the French Black Copper Maran. I am patiently waiting for them to get a bit bigger, but the best way to find out gender for sure is if they crow or not & if they lay an egg. Lol I heard some say they thought they had a Roo but turned out to be a hen because it laid an egg.Hello, and welcome to BYC. The black/white bird is an Easter Egger and most likely a cockerel.
