I love to read! Who else uses a Kindle?

I'm definitely living under a rock. I had to google the word "kindle" to find out what on earth it was...as I was reading this and seeing nothing about campfires or fireplaces. It was only last year (2011) that I discovered what an ipad, ipod and mp3 were. I still find my 1984 walkman to suffice, along with my 1980s cassette tapes (at least the ones that haven't had the ribbon scrambled up). I don't even like game stations - and wish they would have just improved on the Etch-A-Sketch. My husband and I do play some online games, but other than that I pretty much stick to my e-mail, Facebook and Backyardchickens (no idea what is out there in the world of inventions).

That being said - I think I need to "spread my wings" just a little bit, as I would really like some audio books to listen to. I have 6 on cassette tape, but when you've been listening to the same ones for the last 20 years - they become redundant. I do enjoy reading - but my eyes don't enjoy focusing.

I may just ask hubby if we can treat us to a kindle for Christmas.

Just wanted to say CluckyCharms. I was given my Kindle, as a gift. I wasn't sure I really wanted one. It took me a year to finally get it registered and start downloading books.
Now I'm at that age where focusing is not very enjoyable too.

You can adjust the font size. YOU CAN ADJUST THE FONT SIZE! Wahoo! I can read easily again. And its lightweight.

Imp- Now if it would just keep me awake for longer than 4 pages.

Our two kids wanted one because according to them. "Mom, ALL the other kids in school have one"? Darn them other parents!

OK BUT you're not the other kids in school, right? Well once Christmas arrived they were happily surprised to open two packages containing that little plastic device thing ALL the other kids in school have. It really did seem like a little handy device. Needless to say we bought another a few months later.

Don't forget you can also download the Kindle application for pc as well and read any book from your pc. We use Kindle both ways.

None of the links are working for me, and the u.s. links go to the u.k. page but with a 404 error. Are you copy/pasting the link or something else?
