I love to read! Who else uses a Kindle?

Anyone actually use the library to get books for your kindle? I do & love it. I haven't paid for a book in a while other than really new books.

My library actually directed me to a link that I already knew about (ereaderiq). Apparently, while they are aware of ereaders out there, they don't have anything available for them.

BTW: there are updates available for the weekend homesteader series. I discovered that there were two I hadn't gotten yet.

Not sure if you guys are talking about the same thing. Large library's have the ability to rent you kindle books online. I believe they call it overdrive at my library. I check them out for either 7 or 14 days at a time.

Overdrive is the software you install on your computer or phone to get kindle type books (e-audio) or audio books. I've been doing it for years and love it especially since it is much easier on my iPhone. I used to download the audio books to my computer then onto my ipod nano. iPhone is much faster

eta: I believe only libraries use the Overdrive software but I could be wrong. (It hasn't happened yet but there's always a first time lol

You usually have to have a library card for that library for you to be able to borrow them. At least that's how it is in MA and AZ. I have cards to 5 libraries so I've always got a great supply of e-audio books to choose from.

I have seen a lot of the links fir the free books and i have the app on my computer but ti tells me i have to pay for them i can not borow them.

You might have to pay if you don't have a library card for that particular library. In MA as long as you live here and own property and have at least ONE library card, you can contact any other libraries in the state and get an "electronic" library card (via their website) so you can borrow from those libraries also. My BIL lives in NH but he pays a $20 fee yearly to get some MA books also for his kindle.

You have to get them while they are free (usually for only 24 hours). By the time I get home & on computer, it's late in the evening and there's not many hours left, If I get distracted and forget to finish the transaction until morning, I get charged. I do not have a prime account. Don't need it with all the free stuff available, I've got more than I can read now.

Go to the link http://www.ereaderiq.com/free/
