I made pancakes for the first time! :P

I refuse to cook pancakes. They are the only things on the planet that can't be cooked properly, no matter what. People who can make them simply don't exist . . . I suspect they simply make waffles, then cut them to make them look like pancakes.

*raises hand* I'll take a stack!! Well, ok, a pile cause those may not stack too well, but I'll bet they tasted GREAT!!! YUM!

Flipping gets better with practice, but those didn't look so bad! You'll be a pro in NO time!!

thanks everyone

Been making pancakes from scratch for a couple of years now. My grandkids insist mine are better then store bought pancake mix. Can you tell they love their grandpa!

I'm a personal chef. I can't tell how much food I have totally ruined before getting good enough to cook for hire.....

Trust me, if your FIRST attempt at cooking is edible YOU DID A GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!
Next time I'll be willing to bet you won't have a problem!.

HINT:::
Even non-stick pans benefit from a light squirt of cooking spray like PAM.
HINT#2
your first pancake from each batch is the "throw away" pancake. It's the tester to see if the pan is hot enough (or too hot), and if the batter is thick enough (or too thick). \\
If it's burned on the outside but still raw inside the pan is too hot.
If it takes for ever to brown then it's too cold.

You did good! I bet they tasted great. As someone said, wait until you see all the popped bubbles on the top, then flip. You'll do just fine next time.

Try adding blueberries, or bananas and pecans. They are wonderful!

Oh, and you must use real maple syrup. Its soooo good.

You did very very good!

my ds requires Pancakes and eggs every day, I now make different shapes usually dinosaurs or fish or hearts, anything to keep the monotony at bay lol

I have made them from scratch but actually prefer an organic mix I use made out of whole grains. The key is not to have the batter to thick and to wait till it bubbles to flip, oh yes and lots of butter
