I miss my duckling :(

I was given a duckling as a senior gift, and when I brought him home, he warmed up to me very quickly. He wanted to be held all the time. He would jump into my lap when I sat on my floor and when I left my room, he would cry. This made things very difficult as I still had a week of school left. I bought him a stuffed animal and he loved it. He kept it very clean and he snuggled it all the time. I eventually found myself not wanting to leave my house because it broke my heart to hear him cry when I left. I made the decision to give him to a friend who had a duckling that he was hatched with. Even though I know he's adjusted, I'm still very sad. It's been a couple of months; how do I get over it? He was my first ever duckling.

Hes definitly happier with another duck tho i promise that. someday when you have your life is settled in you can have 50 ducklings

I just found out he also went missing a couple of days ago. The owners were out of town and went to change the food and water and he got out somehow.
