I need a farm name!

How do I find out if Antelope Ridge Farm is taken? And if it's not, how do I make it mine?

Aw, you are so sweet. I have no idea how to find out if the name is taken.... Is it a state thing?? I am clueless. Our's would be named "Wee Rental".

Hi Laura,

Well it depends if you want it as a business name to use for your financial records for tax purposes.

Then you need to register it. If so check with your state business name registrations.

If not and it is just for using to have a name then you don't need to worry about registering it.

What products do you sell and is it just an aside or do you have a functional farm income is the question to ask yourself.

If you don't know then you can ask the same place these questions about what is needed to register the name.

You can also check with your local ag rep. They might know too.

Even if it is taken elsewhere you can still use it in your state as long as it is not registered in your state. And if so give it a slight change like ranch instead of farm and such. I doubt it though -- it is an unusual name.

I have 'Creature Comforts' -- well you can't believe how many people use that name for everything under the sun. At one time I added 'studio gallery' -- now it is 'cottage'.

For me it covers the gamut of all my fiber animals and fiber related products, my butterflies and larva kits, and will be fine for the chickens too.

Laura,
I absolutely love the picture that you posted. It is awesome!!! Makes me want to share a cup of coffee with you and watch the antelope roam.
Reminds me of the old western song, "Home On The Range." "Oh give me a home, where the Antelope roam (song says where the Buffalo roam), and the sky is not cloudy all day."

"Ridge Line Farm"
