I need a good set of coop plans.

I think it's one of the more efficient builds. I went bigger and more complicated, which translates into more costs. The big thing I did different was the gable roof, walk-in shed, and adding a porch (still not finished):

Looks awesome Alabama!! Where would you attach a run? Back or side? But all in all, it's my favourite by far!!!

I just trenched my extended run (150 sq ft) to the left of the above pic. Just a note though, I'm a newbie, but I think when you get to around 10 chickens, the Witchita (raised coop) starts to be stretched. My under coop space will be tough to maintain, and I (technically) should be limited to about 9-10 full size chickens (6x6 coop). What I'm saying, is that a walk in coop makes more sense when you get to around 10. Hopefully, the extended run and Alabama weather will give the chickens the space they need.

I bought a set of plans on ebay. Total size is a 4x10 with a 4x4 coop.

I started out the same way, then started reading all the info here, I realized that those size coops only hold about 4 full size chickens. Chicken math got me. Read my build thread, if you're interested in more details. I even posted a pic of the eBay coop I was going to build.

I bought my plans from the same guy on eBay. I didn't like the construction methods they provided. Mostly 1x2 construction and a lot of toenailing with staples.

Great for mass producing kits and smart use of materials, but I wanted something a little more solid.

Do you think that it's possible to use 2x4s instead?

Yes, that's what I did, with standard 16" stud spacing. Or you could follow the Wichita model that is closer to 24" spacing, which is plenty.
