Gardening is a great one, and it can be done with a child too
You might want to think about volunteering somewhere, maybe with your local Red Cross. If you become a disaster releif coordinater, you could even take your daughter with you, pretty much you just run paperwork over to people who have had a house fire, and get them in touch with different agencies, and get them some money for immediate help, pretty easy, and its great to be the "good guy". You could also help with blood drives (not sure how easy it would be to incoorporate a child in wih that though)
