I have fallen in love with my rooster silky TamaTama and our neighbor just gave us a polite heads up that we can not have him. He is a very handsome young man and very friendly. He is good with the hens and kids. He loves to be picked up and cuddled and doesn't fight, kick or peck. He knows his name and if given time can find h\the back the door and wait for you. He is a lavender splash with golden brown markings. I want him to go to a really nice home because as I am sitting here trying not to cry and trying to type through my tears. We live in Portland Oregon, he was a Christmas gift to me by a very good friend who is dear to m so TamaTama is special. We can deliver him out if it is local and not seriously far. I will get pictures of him s well. Is the hen going to be ok by herself? We only had him and her. Please understand TamaTama and I bonded, he is not a meat rooster, but a pet and lover to of hens.

If the crowing is a problem, some vets decrow. Check with your vet. Good luck; all my silkie loving friends are too far to help.

I thought on that but I think the price is a bit steep. I will look into it too though.

I looked into decrowing or rooster neuter and its $500 -$1000 for it and I was told its very risky and often times it fails.

Local rooster rescues and group are over crowding and no longer taking them in. *sigh*
