i need advise on dealign with the postoffice!!!

i have never had this happen and i dont know how to handle it..any advise?i can't belive they wraped it in a bag and taped it and still delivered it to me lol.

I agree that the package does not look that damaged. Did you open the box and see how the eggs were packed?

no i didnt know if i should even open it i figured for one YUK lol and two i didnt know if i undid the seal they had on it if i would mess up any hope i had of fixing it.The post man rang the door bell and before my husband got there was gone and had left it on the porch lol.The box looks like maybe one side was smash pretty flat and pulled back into shape.i dotn think there is insureance but ill ask the person who sent them.Sad thing was she soild them to me for 8 bux and i sent 9 incase paypal was going to charge her a fee for using it and yet it cost 10.?? somethign to send it so she is otu money and so am i lol.what a mess all around

They will not pay the insurance on broken eggs. This question has come up before.

OMG. What a mess!!! I'm trying to figure out where all the yolk leaked out? Just seeped through the box or is there an actual hole? Eep! I've gotten several boxes with a big mess in them, but have never seen an outside look like that! I got a package yesterday with 7 out of 5 eggs decimated and there was no indication on the outside that there were any cracked. *sigh*

Honestly, P.O won't reimburse for insured egg packages and most don't even realize people ship eggs. You can complain, but unless at item is insured, they won't do much and even if it were insured, being hatching eggs, I don't think they'd do anything then either.

I cannot imagine what had to be done to that box to get it to look like that.

(BTW, I wrote fragile all over a box that I brought in Friday to ship and my clerk said "Eggs again?" When I confirmed yes, he said you need to write eggs on there and he wrote it on there in big letters and stamped fragile ALL OVER IT even more. hehe His theory is they'll be nicer to them. I don't know, but I do know the ones that I've received that DIDN'T say fragile or eggs on it generally come in way worse shape than vice versa.)

Boy now that's a mess. Looks like they scrambled it pretty good. I agree that the box doesn't look beat up enough to justify that kinda dammage.

In this situation I think the most you're going to get is an appology from the post office. Personally I wouldn't even bother persuing it.
