I have one and I love it love it love it. If I were to get another bator, it would be another one of them

I LOVE my GQF Genesis 1588 TOO!!!! So much so that I ordered another one TODAY. It's a plug and play 'bator.........read the directions, plug it in, add water and eggs, don't open it unless necessary and Bob's your uncle!!

With the auto turner, fan and auto set thermostat (not wafer).........after you've set your eggs, all you have to do is add water to the appropriate tray channels every couple of days. Mark your calendar for day 18 (lockdown) remove eggs from turner and place on 'bator screen floor and increase water to raise humidity.
Then comes the hardest part. Sitting on your hands and waiting for the rocking, peeping, pipping, zipping and finally the bitties popping out of their shells. The Genesis has a nice big window, so you can watch without opening.

The G.Q.F Manufacturing Co. in Savannah GA has a very helpful phone service to help with any questions you might have. The Genesis is $189.00 (free shipping), but well worth it for those who don't have hatching experience. It's highly recommended for classroom projects too.

Whatever brand you get......hold on to your hat and enjoy your hatching experiences, be forewarned.....it's addictive!!!!

I think I am set on the GQF at this point, just because it holds the most eggs and reviews. But my next question is..."How will I know if the eggs are fertile"??

Jan,
I'm guessing you will be setting your chicken's eggs. Are your birds old enough? Have you seen your roo mounting your hens? Those are your first priorities.........after that you either learn about candling your eggs OR wait 21 days to see what happens.

Another way to check fertility is to crack some open and see if you can find the bulls-eye (there's a sticky at the top of this forum with photos). If enough of your eggs have that bulls-eye, then you can assume the rest are fertile as well. Then start setting them.
