My birthday is on Thursday. No doubt I'll be getting an incubator. I'm looking for the best brand with at minimum a fan at a lower price. Please help me out. Which one should I be getting. New or used. I need something that will hatch a minimum of 10 hen eggs, but not too many.

The brinsea Eco is my dream bator. Unfortunately I can not afford that model.

I would go with a new incubator as you can be sure it is clean, a used bator may have all sorts of yucky things in it. Don't cheap out and get an inexpensive bator like a Little Giant, you will waste waay more money on eggs that don't hatch compared to what you saved on the bator itself.

A Hovabator Genisis is a good incubator, they hold about 40 standard chickens eggs with the turner and even more if you turn them by hand. They run about $200 for the bator and turner kit on Ebay. The Brinsea is also a really good incubator, I have owned several different models over the years and they have always worked great.

If you can, go for the Brinsea. But if you can't afford it, the Hovabator Genisis would be your next best.

I bought a farm 4200 pro with fan and egg turner. I hope it works well.:) I could not afford an expensive one.:(
