I need coop ideas!! HELP! :S

Hello!
well, i have just got some Golden Appanzellers from my aunt and want to get started on the coop. i looked at argos and pets at home but their coops are a bit costly :S
i have a VERY big garden and am really stuck for ideas!!!
Please help!!
i love the playhouse conversion idea but well, i dont have a playhouse!! i have some wood lying around and would also like the space needed by each Golden Appanzeller (i have about 10 but will probably sell some if i get more than one roo) i will also gradually increase my flock once i get experienced btw my babies are in my avatar!!

Have you checked out the coops section on BYC. I think in general a lot of pre-built coops are not very substantial and wouldn't keep out the elements or predators and cost way more than it would be to build one yourself. If you don't care for DIU maybe you could find a coop you like on here and see if a local handyman could build it for you. Another avenue would be to check out your local craig's list. Lots of times used coops and even some barely used are available at reasonable prices - if you have a way to transport it to your home.

You'll want something at least 6x8 for 10 birds - but always go bigger than you first expect. You never know.. everyone adds more chickens.

Pallets are great for cheap projects. They make great walls and bases for framing out the building.

Welcome! I am new here too! But I can tell you this...we built our coop for about $100!! Granted my husband is very handy, but it was simple and basic work! You can make it as simple or expensive as you like! You tube has great "how to" videos on it! With morning prep time and afternoon building u can have it up by TONITE! GOOD LUCK!!
