I need good directions for Artificially inseminating please.

I would like to know how to do AI.
I read how in the hatching book I have but would like to hear it from you pro's.
Also, if the hen is laying on a regular basis and you AI how long before the first egg is fertile? Do you wait for an egg or two to pass first?
