I need help before it is too late!

I'm going to give him some treats to boost him a bit.... its weird.. if i pick him up ha can MOVE his legs but he seems like he cant support much weight..... and his poops are looking pretty dang good.... he seems very happy and active but he just can't get around very well... he is in a box in our bathroom right now....

Could it be he just hurt his foot? My rooster feel off his roosting bar while pushing and shoving to get in his favorite spot and now he limps and will not put any
weight on his foot. He prefers to to just sit around and not move. This was a week ago and he is doing better. The aspirin I gave him seemed to help.

I could try asprin but I'm not sure how much to give him.... he has been eating lots of treats and pooping a good amount has smallest size grit... I have been giving him the ACV in his water, he seems to like that.... good food.... he does a little bit of half standing, looks like he is trying but then sits back down...thought last night he might be on the mend but he was still the same todaymovingmore but a lot the same.... in high spirits but I'm not sure what else to do? how much asprin could he try... maybe he did get hurt, but im not sure how.... if i lift himup and play with his legs he kicks a little and can push a bit with his legs, but its hard to tell a bird to push to test... but his legs MOVE.... they just don't stand! Does that make any sense at all? I don't think its Marek's, but I'm biased so i don't trust my judgement... I can't bring myself to end his little life unless I think he is suffering... right now i think he is just faking for treats! Any more ideas.... All the suggestions are really appreciated... if it is something nurtitional, does it take a long time to get better?.... I'm patient but my husband is wondering when he is going to get his shower back! haha!

I certainly wouldn't give up if he is still eating and drinking. If it is nutritional I think it will take a week or more. If it is Marek's then he will most likely get worse. Not to dampen your spirits, but mine could move her legs as well, but wouldn't stand. But within a week she would no longer eat or drink. Also she kept her neck tucked into her chest, like in a letter "s". If he is alert and eating he is way beyond what mine was so I would keep trying IMO.

I did ask the "ast a vet online" and paid $15 for the help, but he felt that it was Coccidia. Symptoms included, lathargic, sitting around all fluffed up, pepping a lot, and finally blood in the stool. Treatment is with Amprolium for 5 days for sick birds and 21 days for prevention in healthy birds. It seems to affect young chicks between 3-6 weeks of age the most. After the 5 days of treatment you need to add vitamins supplement to their diet as the Amprolium stops the absorbsion of this to get rid of the Coccidia. A stool sample done at your vet can confirm if this is what it is. I noticed with mine that once the poo got really wattery and had blood in it the infection is pretty bad and mine died.

I am happy to say, all the rest are being treated and seem to be fine. I did move them back inside as they got sick the week that I moved them outside. I would reccomend keeping your chicks off the dirt floor until they are at least 9 weeks old if possible.

My local feed store said you can treat the ground with Hydrated Lime by raking or turning it in the ground in the area your chickens stay. You should then put some bedding down over the dirt.

after about a week Pooter is finally up on his feet and tweeting about like nothing was ever wrong.... he had a week of eating purina feed, lettuce, carrot bits, a little service berry, peanut butter and bananas and of course baby grit ACV in his water and vitamin drops.... he looks great now... thank you all for the advice. My little chickie would not have made it without you! Now he is back with his friends.....

It would be better to isolate the chick you should research on the internet or maybe a poultry book
