Hi all,
I obtained a chick from my grandpa before he passed away a few years ago. He had raised chickens since before I can remember! I unfortunately now have the last remaining chicken from his stock due to some unforseen circumstances and wanted to try and help my dad rebuild the stock since he is taking care of my papa's old farm. I can't bare to go over there and not see chickens its just not the same!! So here is some pics of our beautiful rooster that we have always thought was a Australorp till recently. He has feathered feet but looks alot like the australorp breed so could he be crossbred? My papa had a bunch of these chickens and they laid brown eggs and he hatched them in his incubator. I don't know where the original chickens he started with came from but I do know that once they start laying eggs he hatched them. This being one he hatched in his incubator. I have included pics below...the first two where when we first got the chick and the last three are present time. I included a headshot, one in the sun for coloring, and the last one is of his side and one leg so you can see the feathers. Thanks so much for any help!!
