Ok, I've spent a couple of hours searching threads and I can't find an answer so I'm hoping someone can help me.
Last week my Sussex rooster got sick. Thursday night he was fine, Friday morning he did not want to move, and had one eye swollen shut with Goopy stuff hanging from it. I washed the eye with saline solution, put on some Terramycin ointment and gave him some injectable Terramycin. Saturday seemed a little bit better so I kept up the same regimen. Sunday night the other eye was closed so he was effectively blind. I hand fed and watered him so i knew he was getting food. Monday morning, there was no change, and I finally culled him Tuesday.
I thought this was an isolated illness because I saw no signs of this in my other chickens, however, this afternoon, one of my EE's started exhibiting the same symptoms. One eye was closed and she did not want to move. I checked her over, no broken bones, seems alert, will eat and drink, just won't move. I'm not sure and I dont want this to spread so I culled her immediately.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know :/

Edit- neither chicken showed any signs of respiratory illness, and the discharge from my roosters eye was slightly milky but mostly clear.

Thanks for all your help!

I don't know what a chickens temp should be but I would start monitoring the sick ones temps.

I hate the thought of antibotics, but it might be the only way right now.

I appreciate the response, but right now no one else is sick. I'm just hoping to find something out in case others do get sick.
