ThanksCould be, I'm not sure but I'd clean her up before I did anything else or it'll just get worse. Good luck to you and your chicken!

Did you not bring her in and take care of the prolapse?
Please post some photos of the vent.
The maggots need to be removed. Bring her in and give her soakings/flush the maggots off her. Get pictures so we can see what's going on.
Keep the exposed tissue moist with honey, anti-inflammatory ointment, prep H, vaseline, etc. don't let it dry out. Sometimes there's a lot of swelling and the tissue won't stay in, so you'll have to be patient with that. Soaking a couple of times a day in a warm epsom salts bath may help reduce the swelling too - make sure to put your ointment back on there after the soaking.1 Yes, my hen pepper has been having quite a few problems lately.
2 I have tried to take care of the prolapse but it keeps coming back out. Do you know how to stop this?
3 I have flushed out all the maggots I can see and I had soaked her for about 20 minutes early that day.
4 I will get pictures when I do this again today but I have to wait until my family gets home so they can help.
thank you all for all the help and information!
