I have a chick 2 days old. I have tried everything to get it to walk. It just won't stand. I have a container, baking soda and vineger. How do I do it??????

I'm sorry, no it's not eating or drinking and it can't stand. I thought it had S legs so I put band aids on it and it still couldn't stand. I had it sitting on a small cup hoping it would move it's legs and today when I got home I tried to sit it down and it just lays on its belly???? I don't want it to suffer.

Do the legs move at all? Perhaps she/he is just weak. Have you tried the sugar water, gatorade, Poly-vi-sol vitamines (without iron)... you don't want her to dehydrate. Can you get some yogurt in her?

I know many say not to open their mouths and "force" feed, but I had a Silkie that was 2 days old, wouldn't eat or drink. My hubby sat for 2 hours giving sugar water and gatorade and yogurt via a dropper. At first he had to open her mouth with his nail... but then she started to happily open up.

I thought she was a gonner, but she is doing great now. We also mixed gatorade with boiled egg yolk, made it pretty runny and used the dropper to get it in.

I did give her the Poly-vi-sol vitamines with water. No the legs do not move at all. She is a very big chick, the biggest one of them all. I thought it was because she was so big in the shell that her legs were bunched up. I gave her some yolks but her eyes are closed and she is doing nothing but laying there. I hate to say it but I don't want her to suffer I may cull her.
