Okay so i go to check on my girls just like three minutes ago as my pen is like 1/2 a Mile from the house and there is a hen laying on the ground not moving with what looks almost like a burn around her back end i picked her up and she didn't move her eyes were nice and alart like normal she was just dusty and hurt i took her home and washed off the wound with luke-warm water and wraped her in a towel and gave her some water because where she was was a long way from the waterer and she drank furoulsy and now she looks tired i'm in love with all my gals and want to know if i did any good or if i can do any thing else

I have no idea what that might be...but I would make sure she has food & water, keep her warm and quiet for awhile and watch her. Sounds like she went through some sort of trauma, so safe and quiet is good. What does the wound look like? Is it deep?

sounds like maybe a hawk attack and she got away. That happened to one of my hens but she had some blood.

Well its more of a skin type wound and its hard to look at i will fiddle with my camra and see if i can post a pic im just like running a fever i'm so worried!!!!

Did it break the skin or just the feathers plucked out. If it's broken skin clean it off the best you can and put some neosporin on it. Keep her quiet and if you put her back with the flock make sure they don't peck at the wound.

OH MY GOD now i'm scared i think she is going into shock because she just lays there with her eyes closed and she wont stand she just plops back down when i stand here up PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Just keep her quiet she will be ok she will come out of it, this is her night time when she should be sleeping. Well it's night time here anyway. Keep us posted on her
