I need help. Someone is stalking my chickens

Its illeagal to have anything in my yard that could cause the bird to hurt or kill himself
I understand, this is a small scale commercial chicken operation and the nets are used as deterrents. Far as I know this was the only time a pred bird got caught in them. Fortunately, the owl was fine. Most damage done was to my friend untangling him.

I don't believe you are doing the owl any favours by feeding it. It is wild and should not be dependent on you for food. Same for any other wild creature. One of the many reasons not to, is that they may lose their fear of humans to their detriment.
I will add that many animals require different nutrients based on seasons. For example, wild deer in winter are not readily able to digest greens and corn, but can digest woody plans, acorn, etc. So feeding them corn and scrap greens can make them quite ill. Something changes about their metabolism as daylight hours shorten.
I'm not sure about owls though, but it would be wise to simulate their seasonal food or simply let them hunt what they need. 😊

Yes I have done lots of reading. They do require different things depending on seasons
