I assume you mean Bourbon Red since there is no such thing as a Burning Red turkey.

Among other things broad breasted turkeys are bred for their temperaments. Unfortunately they are not bred for longevity.

Hens make better and safer pets than toms do.

Not always. My Tommy follows me until I pick him up.

Tommy is a Midget White. The breed is known for their friendly personality.

My turkeys free range, but never far. And yes, they do have a tendency to hide nests in the woods.
