Please help me figure out the breed and gender of my little Mango. I have a hunch it's a girl but I'm skeptical. I don't know what kind of breed Mango is. I got Mango from tractor supply. Mango is about 3 months old. One thing I know is that Mango is a bantam chicken.

Even without the beard? I would have said Sablepoot.
I debate back and forth on this all the time. It's very uncommon for hatcheries to stock Booted Bantams so the bird was almost certainly intended to be a d'Uccle. That being said, the only difference in the standard of both breeds in the US is the beard and muffs. Does that make a beardless d'Uccle a Booted Bantam? To me I don't see why not, but I have heard that breeders do think of their Booted Bantams as being a distinct breed and don't want them confused. Definitely a nuanced issue that just keeps coming up! :D
