I need help!

It's all good, people have mentioned getting one. They seem reasonably priced. I did have an issue with the gate. It seems like it wd be very easy for a predator to get in. Also, if used as a run, would I try and fit the coop inside or cut a hole in it leading inside the coop?

We actually left one end open and lined it up with the coop. Put eye bolts in the coop and wired the rail to the eye bolts. We let our chickens out during the day so that reduces the risk of predators getting in and netting over the top keeps flying predators away. There is a risk of a predator getting in, but much reduced from either free ranging or chickens flying out.

PS, I think you can get an additional kennel panel cheap from TS and with the end panel that you wont be using, could add them to the sides to make a 10 x 20 run.

Awesome, thanks! Did you keep the gate on? I'm trying to figure out how to make the gate predator proof. We just have hawks right now, but in the past we have seen fox, bear, and raccoons.

Yes. We have the same predators but we coop our girls at night. We haven't had a problem during the day but that doesn't mean we wont in the future.

It also might be worth mentioning that one set of kennel panels that we bought used had zip ties connecting the chain link to the rail on all four sides of each panel. Where the door opens, of course was left as is.

My 6 chickens have decided to fly over my electric netting and take off, I know, I know, what did I expect they are birds darn it! So now I need a bigger run to add on to my existing coop, which is not in the best condition or by a new coop with a large run. We are on a very tight budget and when we priced out how much to build a coop and run, it was more then expected. I'm attaching the run I found that I can attach to my existing coop. If anyone has any ideas, I am open to all suggestions.

UPDATE: This morning I was on my couch and heard a distressing chicken noise I've never heard before. I jumped up and 5 of my chickens including the cockerel were way out by our compost bins. We have a little over 2 acres and they were about 1 and a half out heading toward the woods! I finally got them back inside the electric netting. Well come to find out, the netting wasn't working and they were jumping out the small opening we use to get in to feed and water them. So I fixed the netting, I know because I got zapped and so did my little problem hen! This may explain how they were actually getting out and not flying out. Now, this doesn't mean we are not getting a covered run by no means, actually going out today to get a kennel pen, like many of my flock here on BYC suggested. Thanks again btw! Then going to tweek it so its predator proof!
