I got my "jewelry" scale off ebay... very cheap.... especially when I think of how many valuable eggs/chicks it has saved!!
I really do think that humidity by weight can really help with hatch rates.
It is a little tedious but well worth it!!
After a few hatches, you will probably have very little adjusting to do as you will pretty much know how you have to set your incubator for the readings on your gauges. ...I still check maybe twice per hatch. If I have a lot of eggs... I just do about 1/3 or 1/2 each time. This gives me a good idea if I am on track for weight loss of the hatch.
I have seen a few threads here that have talked about it. Also, the Brinsea website, I believe talks about it. If you search the internet, there is good info on it as being the most reliable way to set/adjust humidity.
