how do i decrease the temperature on my lamp....its a normal 60watt lamp.

What are you doing, a brooder I would guess?

Can you raise the lamp, get it further away from the chicks?

Can you switch to a 45 watt bulb?

yes im buying chicks an this is a normal 60 watt lamp and dont know how to decrease the temp.

Increase the distance from the bulb to the floor of the brooder until the thermometer reads 95 degrees F.
