i've been reading alot on chickens and still don't have all the start up money for the coop, i am wondering if there is any reasons not too get day old chicks and raise them until time too go outside then find them new homes. what i am really concerned about is if there would be any issues with separating them after being together for 6 weeks? i am having chicken fever and really want some fluffy bottoms running around this empty playpen and can't imagine waiting until the end of the year too build the coop i want. is there a market for 6 week old chicks of either sex? i need opinions here, am i just being too impatient and should wait for my forever flock or is this a good way too start and cool the fever.
i also have too add though that i have not found out 100% about the laws/ordinances here about chickens, so i may never have my outside flock so this may be an ongoing thing if there are no reasons not too go on with my plan.
