I need pictures of any BA's, BSL's, and BR's[highly doubt they are these] at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 8 weeks. I would like to compare my chicks to them as they age... The feed store THINKS they were BA's, but the more research I do the more they look like BSL's**. They're all black, with minimal white on the bellie's and such... The last two feathers on each WING is white. They're sweeties. I have one that I'm positive is a Roo because of his behavior...

Please show me your pictures so I can compare!

You might have better luck if you post pics of your babies in the "what breed or gender" forum, but if you had any barred rocks they'd be showing a little bit of barring in their wing feathers by now.

I purchased 3 female Black Australorps at 2 days old from my local farmers co-op. (that's how they by them - all females)
All 3 differed in the amounts of black and white that I observed on them. 2 did have white tips on their wing feathers. One did not. However, one consistency of all 3 was the legs and feet. The legs were a black slate color with the middle toe being light colored.

It would really help if you took pictures as the op stated. Then we all could see what you have! What age are your chicks?

Theres
the link to the updated pictures of them at almost two weeks.
There's a link inside of there of them at three days old.

I'm just amazed at their growth. When they were three days old Ducky dwarfed them, now they have out grown her and are all the same size if not taller. I am so confused on what my mystery chicks are... the consistancy between them is the legs. They all have black legs with either white feet or white on the bottoms of their feet.

From the description, they sound like BA's to me. I raise them. They have white bellies and white on their wings. Some of them have some yellowish/white on their heads. Others have more black on their heads.

BAs will keep some white feathers for the first few months. (Mine had "cotton tails", or solid white butts that looked like cotton balls when they were chicks, with black and white feathers in their wings and body.) Of my 2 remaining BAs one still has a small white spot on one tail feather on each side of her tail and she's 20 weeks old now. The other is solid black.

From what I've read about BSLs, they might show some red in their neck feathers. Have you seen any other color emerge other than black and white? And does the white seem to be going away, replaced by black slowly? To me it sounds like you have BAs.
