That is actually a good price for land here in NC. On the coast it goes for almost 1 hundred thousand an acre. In the mtns where I am it is going for anywhere from 50 to 9o thousand an acre. It is pretty land though. A new development near me has lots for 50 thousand with unpaved roads and thats a good price as it is acreage. They have put up a two house property for 199 thousand. It has hardwood floors and everything. About 2 acres of land but not much flat. The prices have come down around the mtn area lately due to the economy. Jean Ps: About your coop. Dig down and put in a wire floor, heavy wire close together grid. Like a 1/2 inch hardware cloth. frame it in no gapes. Then put one foot of soil on top of that. No matter how hard you try a snake occ. can get in. But that will keep out the critters pretty good. Heavy wire on the outside of the wall all the way up will help to protect the coop too. Most critter go under or through . The run will have to be heavy wire backed by hardware cloth to keep things out. The top covered with some kind of wire or netting. Close your chickens in at night securely. Jean

lol no I have not priced Demontors lately but my sister is a happiness and joy eater she can make even the best things go sour. yes that is a great price other places we looked at wanted 30,000 an acre so we are going to try and find the money somewhere. so maybe I should construct azkaban's plans. I was thinking a big gorge with drawbridge. barbwire over the top 1/2 in hardware wire over the top and buried 1 foot under. and a padlock on the door to keep unwanted human predators away. I know its sad but its true there were beer bottles everywhere but it was mostly toward the road.
