I have a total of 13 chickens. 5 of them are hens (new Hampshire red, rhode island red and 3 leg horns). The other 8 were suppose to be Cornish rocks but come to find out they are amber links I have them outside in there own area and today I tried th put the hens out with them and they were absolutely mean to them. Chasing them and pecking at them. The chickens are 6 weeks old now and I have had them separated for the last month. Is there any thing I can do so they can live together?

Make part of you coop and run a haven for the chicks. Put up a partition with an opening big enough just for the chicks. So they can wander in and out and the hens can't follow. And put food and water in there for them.

My issue is that they are all the same size and age but I have had them separated thinking that the 8 of them were meat birds but they are not. So I tried to put them all together but the 8 birds wanted nothing to do with the hens. They chased after them and pecked at them. I had to shoe them away from the hens or they were going to hurt them.

Didn't catch the age. Maybe to young to tell yet but are the alleged meat birds all cockerels? That may change what the answer is.
