Our hen just hatched out some chicks and now she is eating her legs till they bleed Can I get her and put something on them while she is in with the chicks
Not sure if you can see it good

you can coat the legs with Vaseline. This will prevent her from pecking at them and also kill any mites she might have if that is the issue.

I didnt think she had either but my question is Can I remove her and she will still go back to the chicks But I really dont understand how she can have them because when we made up her nest I sprayed sprayed for mites and put the dirt in their and pine shavings But I do know I have to do something fast because she is eating her legs to the meat Thank for you help

When my daughters chickens had leg mites last year - the state vet said that the Vaseline works simply suffocates any mites.
It won't harm the chicks so you shouldn't need to move her away from the chicks.

We coated once a day. She also said that VICKS or mentholated chest rub works well --- again it won't harm the chicks.

Heres a picture of her legs I rubbed them down with neosporin I hope it work hurt the babies
