I need some help

I posted a message earlier but didn't recieve an answer. I have 2 out of 28 that hatched today which is day 20. I don't know how long they have been hatched today. I was at work. Can I open the incubator to get them out to the brooder box so they can eat and drink?

What I have read - you can leave them in for up to 3 days - they live on the yolk.

Chicks can go 2-3 days without eating or drinking because they absorb the yolk before they hatch. They should be just fine. Don't open the incubator becuse you let humidity out and the temp. goes down and it won't be good for the ones who haven't hatched yet. If you think it is absolutly nessacary to take them out because they are bumping eggs or something, open the incubator really fast, grab the chicks and close it. Good luck!

Are we talking chickens?

If so, they should be fine for a couple of days until most of them hatch. They absorb the yolk just before hatching, and this keeps them full for 2-3 days. Sounds like you had a couple hatch early!
I wouldn't open the bator just yet.

Definately leave them in there. Opening the bator now can really have an effect on your temps and humidity causing the rest of the hatch to be poor.

I know it's hard to watch them in there and not get them out but it's for the best.
