It sounds like he needs to be refreshed on the old saying "Happy Wife ='s Happy Life"! Which is so very true.
It took my hubby awhile to get this but once he did he made some changes quick. Now we are all happier including the silkies. He now ask how everyone is doing as well as all the chicken updates. Not sure he pays attention past the first 30 mins but still he pretends well if not.
Sorry about your girl. Hope the husband catches on quick. My husbands pit bull also learned quick and my chicks are safe with her as well.
Thanks everyone! I feel better reading your support. Dh came to his senses. I told him if te dog wasnt gone i Was going to shoot her. This isnt the first time shes attacked the animals. One time dh had her loose in the garage with him. INSIsting as he does that shes a good dog yadayada, i hear a rucus and go out, shes got my EE trapped under the coop and is digging like crazy to get her. I get the dog, put her in the house, goto dh &say "wheres the dog?" he didnt even notice she had wondered off!!! After that she wasnt off leash again. THEN she ripped through the kennel wire and escaped into the goat pen and attacked dd's goat! We rewired the kennel, secured everything way more. Stronger guage 2x4, and then this!! I told dh, she has to go, All of our livestock is at risk. How on earth am I supposed to run a homestead with this dog here? I am just lucky that she comes to her senses quick since I am the one who always has to halt the attacks. Our other dog, he sat in the kennel the whole time. Didnt even try to go out the hole. I know its nature. I know I shouldve done more to protect my girl, and i am just sick over it. The kids are all sad, and worse, yesterday was dds bday! So the dog is gone, it doesnt bring cotton back but at least i dont have to face her murderer everyday.
