I'm just starting out, but I am pretty sure I'd like to end up with some laying chickens, breeding chickens, and show chickens. (Oh yeah and we have one duckling who thinks it's a chicken)
We currently have 2 Barred Rocks, 1 RIR, and 25 Australorps (10-15 of which will be going to another home), and 1 Mallard duckling.
What are your opinions on the best coop for each group and does anyone have any ideas how to combine them all in one coop? I have a terraced area in the back yard and the top tier is 7' x 19', the bottom is about 5' x 19' I'd like to utilize as much space as possible. As far as weather goes, we are in southern California and it gets pretty warm in the summer and we have mild winters. Any thoughts?
