We have the same situation in our area, very difficult to find food specific to Ducks, with the higher protein. My ducks are out all day free ranging and mostly eat the food in the coop at night. They seem to eat a good amount, I also give them meal worms as a treat in the morning. I am trying to get this food issue worked out before my 5 teenager girls transition over from grower feed to layer feed. I will definitely dig deeper into finding them some higher protein feed.I spent a lot of time searching for the right stuff that I could obtain locally, even if I had to order it but perhaps its a Covid issue, or perhaps just not much available for ducks here but the right protein mix and appropriate calcium seems to be tougher to find. IIRC the purina duck feed has 19% protein and came well recommended for consistent feeding. to all the flock. I am always shocked by how much my ducks eat, they don't seem to be overweight to me, and they certainly get plenty of opportunity to move around, their recreation areas are far away from their food areas so they can't just lay in one spot. I suppose it doesn't do much good to have nutritious food if they aren't eating it, how much are they consuming in a day do you think?
Thanks for your help!
