Our youngest chicks are getting to the point that I can pretty much tell pullet from roo.. and their colors are getting to be so pretty. these are not going to the freezer so I want to name them (not naming the ones that may go to freezer camp)
Lancelot---this is most likely a roo (ee/araucana whatever you want to call it) he is by no means social with me, but all six of the newest little ones stay close together with each other like their own sub-flock
Gwenevere---I am pretty sure this on is pullet, because her tail feathers and temperment are completely opposite to the boys. she is calm, very private and doesn't mind being picked up (she doesn't love it but she doesn't mind it either)
Arthur---this roo is doing his best to be dominant over the others in this "sub-flock"
Romeo---this is my barnivelder roo....he is going to be beautiful when he matures...I was thinking Romeo for him
Juliette---this is my barnevelder pullet (i am pretty sure), and she will be equally gorgeious when mature. I can already make out some of the lacing.
Amelia---and this one for now we are calling Little Brown (my 7 year old came up with that) she is a Barnevelder as well, but I believe she will be double laced. we got her at the same time as the other 5 and she didn't grow as fast I guess. so we have her in the cage with her own food and access to water. just in case she wasn't getting as much as the others were
