This is Gertrude the duck from Journey to the Center of the Earth 1959
what is she

it looks like a pekin with paint or make-up on it... or some strange pied pekin cross

A very cute cross bred. Being that the movie is so old- it might be difficult to find out what cross it may have been - but that eye ring is just gorgeous - it almost looks unreal in how perfect the ring is. I googled to find more info on Gertrude- and found a facebook page for the duck

I'll let you guys in on a secret. I created that facebook page after one day in chemistry class we were shown the trailer for Journey to the Centre of the Earth. The narrator called out the actors' names like
James Mason!
Pat Boone!
And Gertrude the Duck!

The entire class burst out laughing at this and it became an in-joke for weeks, to the extent that I made a "fan page"

What shocks me is Gertrude seems to have gathered a minor cult following and people have stumbled across my page for her.
Makes me feel bad that I've never even seen the film, nor know anything about the duck in question
