lol well this doesnt have much to do with chickens, but the past few days my status has been "i need to post more", and i see people with as many posts as me out of the brooder, so im kinda upset

, i feel like i've been posting quite a bit! how do i come out of the brooder though??? stupid stupid questions but im curious?? LOL

oh to make this a chicken topic, is there anyone here running an electrical fence around their coop and run?? im in the process right now of putting up electric fencing around my coops and runs, and just curious on who all has done this and wondering if its doing its job??

eh, its basically a joke the mods play, (or i think), many people beg for special status's but never get it. maybe you should be proud? LOL, not sure on the electric fence thing.. never done it myself.. but know some people who have and worked wonders against their coyotes/wolves problems. they'd just fence their whole yard where all the coops and stuff were in. put a great pyrenees or some other dog in it, bam... no predator problems really.

I'm using electric netting around my chickens, plus dogs. No problems with coyotes, or stray dogs. Alas, the fence doesn't stop the owl that is using my birds as a Fast Food outlet!

Geez it took me forever to get out of "chillin with my peeps" , Now I'm overrun with chickens (should be chicks

), now that is not far from the truth. I started in chickens in May and now have 3 bators, 2 of them running with 7 doz eggs. I am an extreme hatchaholic. I have at least 3 more dozen coming this week

. I have 39 chicks from 11 weeks down.
As for the fence, I will be trying to find a solar one since I can't get electricity to my coop yet. Good luck on changing your status

wow lol i think someone is playing with me because now im outta the brooder, maybe im posting more now, i wasnt whining on it or anyhting lol, just thought it was kinda weird because ive never seen it before on anyones lol!!

now for the fencing thing! lol i heard my chickens going crazy the other night so i went out and i could hear an owl that was on my grain bin, i would shoot them but then again i live approx. 2 miles from a conservation agent who is always driving by! but if it does however get one of my chickens then i have propable cause! we've been having a lot of coons lately thats why i'm going to get electric fencing, my dog has killed 3 coons in the past few weeks, and im afraid he's going to run across one he cant handle and get himself hurt pretty bad! then i wont have anything protecting my chickens!
